Shad Derby Parade

 

Help the Jaycees celebrate the 59th anniversary of the Windsor Shad Derby Festival and Parade by participating in the parade in 2020.

The Windsor Jaycees are proud to sponsor and organize the 2024 Shad Derby Parade. The annual tradition of the Shad Derby Festival and Parade began in 1966 and the Jaycees have proudly organized the Festival and Parade since 1972. The parade is the culmination of the Windsor Shad Derby Festival which brings thousands of people to Windsor each year.

The 2024 Shad Derby Festival Green and Parade activities will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The Parade will leave Windsor High School at 11:30 a.m., march down Capen Street to Broad Street and be at the Town Green at 12:00 pm. This year's Parade Co-Chairs are Megan Connelly and Tammy Dube. 

Parade participants should arrive at the staging area at Windsor High School by 10:30 a.m.

We often have 50 or more groups marching in the parade, and we hope to have about that number again this year.
